Growth expectations to 2020 in the sector textile machines lower than in machinery industry

Production and sales of textile machinery are below average compared to mechanical engineering. This report deals with the impact this situation had on the growth expectations to 2020 of the machine-builders in this sector.

July 5th, 2018 - The production of textile machines grew by 3.5%, sales by 2.5% lower compared to machinery industry in the years 2014 to 2017 as the sector report on textile machines indicates.


The growth expectations relate to machine production. At 2.3% per year until 2020, they are half as low as in mechanical engineering at 5.5% p.a.

60% of textile machinery manufacturers do not see any growth in machine production by 2020. But a decline in machine production is not expected either. 


The expectation of zero growth is significantly higher than in mechanical engineering and reflects the experience of textile machinery manufacturers in recent years. 


40% of the machine-builders in this sector expect machine production to grow by 2020, with half expecting growth rates of between 5% and 10% per year. The other half is divided into lower and higher growth expectations.
