July 3rd, 2023 - The production of wood processing machines fell by half by 2022, while sales increased slightly like those of the machinery industry, as revealed by the industry report about wood processing machines.

What are the shares of units and value/sales of the four product segments of the woodworking machinery industry in 2022?

Planing/grinding machines are the mainstay of the woodworking machinery sector with a 53% share of total production, but in terms of revenue they are only in third place, i.e. second to last, at 20%.

Other processing machines account for 36% of sales in the wood processing machinery sector. According to the definition of the official production statistics, these are "wood processing machines for various types of machining operations without tool change".

All four product segments show increasing average values. The average value of splitting machines and chipper increased the most by 2.3 times from 2008 to 2022.

The average value of the unit volume driver, planing/grinding machines, doubled in the fourteen years from 2008 to 2022.

The average value of the industry's revenue driver, other processing machines, increased by 1.6 times over the same period.
